The 6.0L Powerstroke has had a so-so history at best, a horrible one at worst...and the worst 6.0Ls were the '03s and '04s.

Stay far away from them.

Good gosh a mighty....is someone really asking if they should trade a 5.9 CTD for a 6.0 PSD?

Look, I currently own an '04 6.0 PSD that for the most part has been an ok truck (as long as I can keep the intercooler boots from blowing off when towing, and keep my idle from rolling all over the place and shaking the hades out of the truck).

I've been trying to sell my truck outright for two months now and I have yet to have a solid bite on it because of the reputation on the 6.0. Resale value is crap.

My advice, fix your truck and keep on driving it. Ferd dropped the ball when they released the 6.0 and they know it. Go to thedieselstop.com and read the posts. If you read the posts on TDS and still buy a 6.0 then.......

It would be taking a big gamble with the 6.0. I'd stay with the 5.9.

I'm a Chevy guy, but I know that Cummins is a good machine. NOT the 6.0.

Just my $.02

Not at all!!

Well I wouldnt do it! There are tons of recalls and a list of problems that the 6.0Ford has had. One of the big reasons as to why they went with the 6.4, well that and emissions! Only ford worth a crap in my mind would be some of the last 7.3 storkes, I have hauled around several guys that have them and have well over 500K and no problems! They were a good solid platform, but I still wouldn't trade my CTD for one!!!
