Its a fuel additive popular among some v-twin circles for cleaning out carbon deposits. Any opinions on using this in a cummins?

Cleans fuel injectors
cleans carbon
lubricates upper cylinders
de-ices and removes moisture
diesel fuel conditioner and anti-gel
stabilizes fuel

One can would treat a tank of fuel. I always have this stuff around for the bike and was wondering if anyone used it for their truck. Might be a bit expensive using it all the time at $5 a can though. Recommended usage is once every 2k-5k miles.

I had the kid check with the Cummins Tech Instructor about putting this in through a vac line as per the instructions, he suggested that it would be better to fill the fuel canistor when you do the filter change. I have run it through gas and diesel engines and even through my old tractor. Smokes up a storm while your putting it through but does a great job. I found it to be almost totally non-affective just mixing in the fuel tank, but in a gas engine just rev the engine some and stick a vac line into the can as directed.

I Used it in my 7.3L IDI, I never noticed any difference though, but that could be from my truck being so far gone nothing can't help it..

Gal at work who drives a VW diesel swore by Seafoam till it hit minus 20F and her fuel gelled. Had to push her rig into the shop till it un gelled so she could get home.

I think you can get more bang for the buck with the more mainstream brands.

I run it in everything except my outboard. In the car the effect was quick and milage went up. The cummins ran quieter after the second can in the fuel tank. The 1958 841D Ford tractor doesn't smoke as much as it did when I got it three years ago, but that could be because I worked the dog doodoo out of it dragging a six foot box blade in wet sand with a dull cutter blade. I even put it in the chain saw/weed eater gas and the generator when it is layed up for a while. I do not put it in the oil pan. I fear that if it loosens up some gunk that may be in there it could cause expensive damage by clogging the pisk up strainer.
