bring 'em on!
I test drove a Jeep Liberty CRD yesterday morning, and it was a FUN ride, with 295 ft-lbs at ~1800 rpm. Accidentally chirped the tires a couple times. I didn't like the interior styling, but that little diesel is a lot of fun. And it had a cute little rumble, kinda like when our mini-dachshund gets riled up and starts growling and barking. There were other things that I disliked about it, but the engine/drivetrain is the highlight of the vehicle for sure.
I'm just starting to get my wife interested in going diesel, so I hope they start brining a few more models over. Especially the Grand Cherokee, since we'll be looking at those in the next year or so.

^^^ Alot of big company's around here buy alot of Ford's in bulk every few years. I'm assuming they're still relying on the old 6.9 and 7.3's dependability... sadly. With all these new(SMELLY) powerjokes roaming the streets I can't help but think... This would even make baby Jesus cry.

Diesel fuel in our continent compared to European
In that second link, Mr. Frank Klegon says, “We can’t just bring a European diesel-powered passenger vehicle and put it unchanged into the U.S. market....Differences in consumer preferences, regulations and fuel quality require extensive development to adapt a product for American consumers".
Is he blowing smoke or is there a difference in diesel fuels in Europe?

Instead of propping up the corn farmers with ethanol subsidies (E85), why not a methane powered (LG) truck? With all the methane wells in our area and the thousands more to go in over the next year, it makes sense to convert to the natural gases. Of course, gas is cheap right now www.bloomberg.com shows Henry Hub price at $8.61/MMBtu's. But I've seen it as low as $5.90 this summer. When you put a 100# tank on the back of your pickup that's roughly 24 gal of liquid, which would last me about four days.
