Road salt on my under carriage...
Just went under my truck to extend the crankcase breather tube and to check things out since it's been awhile... Dang that road salt. It's everywhere. I bet some places have over an 1/8" layered..... ARGHHH..
I'm wondering if I can get some shop to let me rent some time on a lift so I can give it a good blasting with a power washer...
And I also just ordered a gallon of Boeshield T9.
It's a never ending battle and I think I'm losing right now....
Thanks for letting me vent.

Price looks good but shipping is high. Some farm or tractor supply places may carry it if there is one near you.

Yeah, I know it sucks .... No snow to play with and was only in the upper 60's all weekend, at least it was sunny out .
Sorry man.

Go to a do-it-yourself car wash and use their power washer wand to spray off the underside of the truck. We have on by me at a gas station and I use it frequently in the winter to spray off the road salt and road grime.

a good friend of mine worked as a welder for a company that built and repaired car washes. car wash owners wouldn't call for needed repairs until complaints of vehicle damage reached a certain point. he would only put his own truck through a car wash that he had just built or repaired, as scratches, swirling and hazing of paint, front end and alignment problems are all inevitable issues with commercial, drive through car washes. even a well maintained car wash has your truck being cleaned with high speed 'brushes' that contain whatever they removed from every other persons vehicle that went before you. 'brushless' car washes are certainly better, but the high velocity water shot at your truck can cause paint damage.
