Read on Banks website that twins are bad????
Here is what their FAQ says about twins.
"What kind of problems are likely when using two, staged turbochargers?
It is common to use different sized turbos when the turbochargers are "staged": that is, the compressor discharge from one turbo feeds the compressor inlet of the second, and the compressor discharge of the second feeds the engine. The most likely problem is extreme heating of the compressed intake air. A charge air cooler (intercooler) should definitely be used to cool the air coming out of the second turbo."
Hmm, my confidence in them is now very low. What do you guys think?

He's absolutely right. When you compress air you heat it up. So you've got hot compressed air coming out of one turbo and going into another and it gets compressed even more and gets even hotter. You most definately most run an intercooler (or after cooler for the technical one's on this site) with twins. He's not saying that they're bad, just that they super heat the air and that you need to run an intercooler which is totally right.

they dont sell a twin turbo kit...therefore it is bad
on a side note my neighbor told me saturday that if spend $900 for a 6 gun and power PDA for my truck, ill be making enough power to max out the motor because banks is the only company that get that much power out of these engines...

I would have to think that the statement posted above about twins is a very old piece of information. Banks probably wrote that back in the day when there were non IC trucks out there looking to get even more power. Now, if that doesn't tell you that Banks is more interested in spreading their current propaganda than clearing up or removing their old garbage I don't know what does.

Guess what, any time you increase pressure the temp goes up. No matter how many turbos. The more effciently you do it the less heat you will cause. Compare a HY-35 at 50PSI (if it makes it) and a HX-35/HTB3 at 50PSI. Which is going to be cooler?
Not to mention that Banks Durasplat is using twins. Not sure if they are two stage or parralel.

What I got out of that statement was that you would need an intercooler BETWEEN the turbos. I guess this probobly is old, but why wouldn't they take it off? It's really impossible to find any technical info on any of their products. Maybe thats why most on here dislike them.

We just *know* that if Banks isn't doing it, it's only because it's impossible.....

It dosent look like they were downing the use of two turbo's, just that you will definatly need to use a intercooler if going with this setup. And one large intercooler will probably be more efficent than using two!!
