hey-- just a quick question,, does anyone know of any chips available for cat diesels? my dad has a cat in his work truck, not sure of the numbers but he's wantin a lil more performance and mileage,
he asked me last nite and i wasn't sure offhand

Yes there are chips available , but i don't know who makes them. Just an FYI , we have a memo on the wall at work stating that if we find ANY sort of aftermarket electronics on a caterpillar engine , we are to contact caterpillar immediatly, the first thing that happens is your engine warranty will be voided , no questions asked , no second chances. The second thing that will happen right away is Caterpillar will contact the EPA , and the company who owns the truck would be in a severe world of hurt once the EPA was done with them , these devices are VERY illegal , and they DO check for them.

With all that said , what does your Father drive for a work truck , and what engine is in it?

What you can do , is talk to the cat dealer really nicely , and you might be able to convince them to use their laptop and software, and turn it up some. Heck , if you weren't so far away , i could do it
