I will NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! put anything in my engine that quaker state makes.
When we were in high school shop class, an enging rep came in and showed us 2 motors that had been ran for something like 1k hrs, one with brand X oil, the other with quaker state. The quaker state was gum and sludge city, and the X brand was normal looking.

Not for me, thanks.

Yeah I was watching NASCAR, I just don't see how a motor oil can add torque or hp for that matter, but hey I'm no scientist either

How would that oil give you more torque than any other oil of the same weight?? I don't buy it...

yeah, seen it too!... I wouldnt use anything Q-state makes or any filter made by Fram in a vehicle I cared about... I've seen the end results and its scary! All these commercials talking about freeing up more power, but Im thinking that there is only some much parasitic drag you can remove from an engine. I also think that any quality synthetic can produce the same results.
Reminds me of when I was shopping for performance accessories for the '04 Hemi and I found a intake kit that bragged about 20 hp., an exhaust claimed 40 hp., and a power programmer that claimed 20 hp... I asked the salesman, "so when I get done, I'll have an extra 80 hp???... His response was, well, uuhh, no, you'll probably have about 25 extra Hp.... Needless to say, the truck stayed stock!

This reminds me of a editors note in one of my 4x4 mags a while back. Someone wrote in and asked about all these magical oils that free up power, make more torque, freshen seals and make your motor with 200K miles run like it just had a rebuild. Basically if these oils really did that, don't you guys think the engine rebuilders would be out of work? It is a scam IMO. Regular oil and filter changes along with other maintenence will make your motor go a long ways. I use a quality oil but I don't buy into that wonder oil stuff (4x4, hi-torque etc).

Rampage to answer you no Quaker state is not near as bad as Penzoil (canned sludge) That is the worst garbage i have ever seen very waxy and good at plugging up engines! 20 years ago quaker state was not a bad oil but i don't know what their current product is like.

Why wouldn't it work? I put a Flow Master sticker on one of my trucks once and I think it gave me an extra 50 hp.

30 years ago my brother had a cutlass that he bought used. It had run 80,000 miles on quaker state oil. It was using a quart every 400 miles. He switched it to Amoco/standard oil 300 ( a diesel oil 30 weight) Then drove it well past 200,000 with out needing to add oil between 5,000 mile oil changes!!
No quaker state oil for me.
