High revving??? They only turn 3200-3400 (can't remember). A CR Cummins will turn more than that. Heck, most of the 12v's on the board will turn 3200 with ease.

I knew I was close...haven't driven my Uncle's in a few weeks, and couldn't remember if the 05's would wrap out any farther.

A 6.DOH will turn like 4K from the factory

A fellow c ame into our shop driving a '02 I believe???? Duramax, had almost 200,000 miles on it.

Really nice truck, Crew cab, Dually, heated leather, all the toys. He was running a little hot shot setup with a flatbed gooseneck, (he was dropping off a small articulated loader)

I told him "hey nice truck" and we kind of struck up a conversation with he, I and one of our other mechanics. Asked him how he liked the truck, he hesitantly said "uhhhh.... it's o.k" I said oh, had many problems with it? He says yeah, quite a few,

Hand of God! This is a true first hand account, and there is another witness to this story!

He had put 19.................. count them! 19 new injectors in the thing........

I couldn't believe it.

Really unfortunate, guy pays 50K for a truck and is trying to make a living with the thing and he has all that downtime on a fairly new truck?? That's just crazy.

I guess I d have to ask, if they are so good, why have you had three? I know they are a good truck, just different. Im sure their is mis information out there but my personal experince......I know three people personally with d maxes.....All three have had multiple problems. All have had injector problems. One guy bought his from a dealer in AZ, on the drive to vegas on its first tank the injectors crapped out, had to have it towed. Later he had inject prob again and did some mech damage due to to much fuel, I think he ended up getting a new engine, not positive.

One guy spent an extra week in bowling green Kentucy waiting for injectors. That cost him about 1000.......even though the injectors were covered. He also had to cover part of the tow, cause he had a 48 ft trailer he had to get moved. The same guy had a dodge (cummins) before the d max, and he wished he had it back.

From three guys, I ve put my dodge to work twice.

with the first two duramaxes, they went south because our dollar was so low, and they did not have o percent finacing yet, both trucks cost me less than 2000 dollars to trade up a year, and they had over 25k on, normally it could be closer to 12k a year cdn, with a price like that how could you go wrong

also if you go look around at other fourms, you will see the sucess with the max, other than the dam injector problem ther is none, and now you can see the new cummins are having the same injector problems and yes, they use the same high pressure injector crap from bosch, i hope soon that problem will be overcome, we just went to it first, it sure is nice i will say to have a quite motor, but thats where it is at for now

I've never heard of anyone having to put 19 injectors in their Dodge....

I'm not bashing the D-max, they are o.k. Rather a Dmax than a 6.0, but I'd rather have a 7.3 than a Dmax.

My father is talking about trading his F350 on a Dmax............ Time will tell.
