pre-filling oil filters?
#47
There was actually a study done that went into this. and came out that the prefill, if the engine is at idle. is not needed. The amount of oil that is left for the second that none more is supplied is more than enough
CAT ( i know its not a cummins) actually doesnt want filters prefilled.

I thought pre-filling was more for the turbo than the engine. I also unplug the shut down solonoid and turn it over before firing, so the turbo gets lubed. You could just give it a couple more cranks instead, but it might be rough on the starter.

I prefill the CTD, dont on the durango. Dad always told me prefill turbo charged engines, no need on anything without turbo.
I guess thats a yes and no, I'll vote yes beeing this is a CTD site.
