passing inspection
How are people passing state vehicle inspections with straight exhaust? Seems like a pain to have to put all that stuff back on every year. Im lucky I guess, no state inspection in SW AZ.

I run a Jardine 4" system with muffler, so I don't have that problem. Interestingly, though, in Texas, a turbocharger qualifies as an exhaust silencing device, so no muffler is needed on a turbocharged diesel!

In Virginia, it's an annual safety inspection.
It can be a straight pipe all the way out the back as long as it dosen't leak, and you haven't removed any anti-pollution devices.
However the local PD have the job of enforcing the NOISE ordanances.

I just had mine safety inspected and emission tested.
Emissions every year, safety every other year until the vehicle is 10 years old (or something like that).
No worries.
Emissions they allow 30% of something, and I only showed .05 % or something like that?
Only got a warning about my lack of mudflaps, but have some huge Cummins "C" ones sitting at home awaiting trimming and fitment.

Those things are anything but quiet. I am 3 miles from 41 and I can hear them at night.
