You are all making me rather envious! I don't have any right now, grew up on a farm in Illinois around IH 1066 & 1486's. Really would like to acquire a 4020 or 3020 diesel, but not while I live in an apartment...!
BigredBCS - any tips for a first time buyer of a unit like yours - I have a friend who builds timber frame houses on remote sites and is thinking about such a machine. Thanks.

I cant find my pictures (severe computer meltdown about 6 months ago). I have probably the smallest tractor in the bunch, but its still a tractor and not some sterioded up garden tractor. Its a Kubota BX1500. 2cyl 15hp Kubota Diesel, 4WD, FEL w/bucket float on the joystick, 54" MMM, Mid/Rear PTO with 3 point hitch.

Don't quote me on this , but that sure looks alot like the Allis Chalmers 190 I used to have. It was an alright working tractor ( it was loud and smoked ) but I think it was just plain worn out , it wouldn't stay in gear sometimes, and it started REALLY hard , even in the summer time.
It looks to be too small to be a 190, its probably a 175. The 190 gas versions were ok. We've got one at home, but haven't used it in years. In the last 20 years its main chore was pulling wagons around the farmstead at harvest time. If you want a good tractor the 195 XT Series III was awesome. We've got one of those as well with the inj. pump turned up on it. Its like the 190 you're talking about, very cold blooded, smoked like crazy, and insanely loud, but that sucker will pull a house down.

at one point we farmed 750 acres, after the state claimed 100 of it we are now down to 650, we sold all the cattle and equipment and started cash renting it out. they farm all big deeres now but used to run red, friens of mine that i help, all of their tractors are red, 2 1066, 1466, 986, 766, about 3 or 4 more tractors, i know my grandfather rolled over in his grave when my grandma bought a deere mower 2 years ago, we always farmed red and my blood still runs red, so i will never own anything but IH.

Lets see here. JD 8430 w-dozer, JD 4630, JD 4040 with welded-up and worn-out 148 loader, and JD 1020. Also, if you want me to include other self propelled farm machinery, we have a Gleaner L-3 combine, a Melroe 116 Spray-Coupe, and we are now the proud owners of a New Holland 2450 windrower in great condition. No more running the old JD 1600 piece-of-junk Hyraswing!!! Wish list: new McCormic loader tractor or JD 42-4455 front-wheel-assist in great condition!
BTW, I want one of those D8Rs!

Well I can't say it's mine, but I did just pull this one from Texas to Missouri for my Sister and Brother-in-law. John Deere 6410. Nice tractor!
Unfortunately mine is only a Troybilt 17.5hp "Pony" riding lawn mower
