Yeah.. blue loctite should be used on the oil pan bolts. I doubt you'll do anything to the oil pan. Worst case would be a twisted head that comes off the bolt. Anyways when you torque a bolt you're applying holding pressure on the block threads and bolt threads. With that said the thread will flex a little and causes pressure. To much pressure and you'll end up with broken thread (stripped bolt).

What happens with vibration (aircraft or small engines) is when the bolt is is torqued it creates a glazed surface. The loctite dissapates that and gives the bolt something to hold onto. Not to mention the liquid will expand and create more down pressure. As a rule of thumb you should tighten the bolt to spec and always do a 45 degree turn if it's in a high vibration enviroment. Oil pan bolts are not really high vibration. Something like a flywheel or piston rod you need to be careful.

I wouldn't worry about it

I'm with madhat on drilling holes in bolt heads. Although I have done it before. Some people are artists when it comes to safety wire. I can do it but it's usually not pretty. When working on an LM2500 I always have one of the techs working for me do it.
