Hey, we've got to be doing something kinda right, looks like we're both 2nd place finishers for consecutive months.

The TOM committee decides on a theme (3/4 ton 1st gens this month, 3rd gens with flatbeds last month) and looks through the DTR member galleries for good candidates. They pick 3 trucks and leave it up to the members to decide which one is best. Even if you don't win, the TOM committe thought your truck was cool enough to consider. 
At the end of the year the all runner-ups come back for a mega-poll, so you get another shot at glory.
