well considering dodge deislerships wont even work on sprinters i dont see how dodge would do something as stupid as that. Mercedes diesels arent meant for americans. we need good dependable enginges to beatthe crap out of and that means no mercedes.

Huh, everytime I go into my local dealer they have a Sprinter in the shop. My diesel buddy up there always complains about having to work on those darned things. I don't think a dealer would sell a single one of those if they told their customers that they couldn't service them.

I don't know if your post was meant to be sarcastic or what. Have you ever asked a question somebody else may have thought "stupid"?

Is that why they use a Mercedes motor in the Freightliner and Sprinter?

I hope no one takes me too seriously...I guess I just have seen too many old roumors bouncing around here. I like having a sense of humor, and even serious posts can be humorous...but you're right, I was probably a bit too direct.
Thanks for...understanding.

The 'Net makes it difficult to determine things like sarcasm, or joking.

That "Dodge is losing the Cummins" rumor HAS been around since the Ford camp was forced to settle for the PowerStroke diesel.

It's getting rather long in the tooth.
Time to put that and the "Ford Owns Cummins" rumor to rest....permanantly.

It is a good thing that I bought my Cummings when I did. Maybe in '08 they'll put 2 cylinder yanmars in the rams. that would be cool huh? you could fit like 6 of them in there.

I love rumors. especially silly ones that have been beat to death already.

they can come and get it, voided warranty and all. I'll just take a aircooled VW motor, shave the heck out of the heads, remove the spark plugs, and run it on RUM. ha ha ha.

Boy these voices are starting to get to me.

I think we should have a rotating banner saying It's cummins not cummings. Ford hasn't owned any part of Cummins since 1997 and the g-56 6spd transmission runs with 3.73s like most manuals do with 4.10s.

No one at any Dodge dealer know anything about the Cummins. Just what it says on the sticker in the window. Everything else is just blowing smoke.
