Whatever. Pfffffffftttttttttt. What they didnt say was that in the trailer there was a CTD in it for steep hills and break downs.

I test drove an F-450 CC duallie 4x4 with 4.88s last weekend. Impressive.

Very quiet inside. Very, very quiet. Well laid out inside, too. Didn't care for the 4.88s, though. 4.30s would be better, plus you'd get the full-power shot of 350hp/650tq with the 4.30s.

(4.88s only have 325hp/600tq)

If I needed a new truck, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.

"Nothing broke" He said. Then later they had to "Replace the computers during service" and "The tires are new in the front because of Alaska. The roads were really tough and we knocked the front-end out of alignment". HUH? I guess they are not built ford tough.

I love the comment below that said "(F) Fast (O) Only (R) Running (D) Downhill"

check out the video at about 3:50 just before this they are talking about the new front tires because they knocked the alignment out .look at the tires, some major cupping goin on there for new tires!!!and 150,000 in 131 days,1100 a day or so a day. so that tells me it was pretty much interstates.no wonder it had no squeaks or rattles.bring that over here and try out some of our gravel roads for a week or so and that thing will sound like a model t.

I agree with you 100%..... The only part on the truck with wear is the motor and drive train... the rest of the truck is four months old... I would HOPE the truck had no 'other' problems in four months like a squeak..... I think this would be true with ANY brand...

I saw one of these test mules in Texas up here on I-35 (have no idea if it was this truck, I think they have three or four) that had pulled over on the side of the high way... The whole truck said something like built ford tough and some other "test" stuff..... I wrote a big long post about this about 4-5 months ago...... anyhow it had fluid all over the ground and the hood was up and it was DOA on the side of the High way right near Texas Motor Speed Way......

To all: and Ford fans..... They do this for advertising... they want the US market with the little (__) syndrome to say my truck is better than yours and this proves it.... its a commercial.... All the big three do it in some way or another and it is what it is..... but its still a mechanical engineered object and built to wear when the companies what them to wear/break/ and need to be replaced. There is a word for this but Ive had a beer and cant think of it. And again they all do it.

Here is the copy of my post several months ago:

Hello,

Was going down I-35 W here just north of Ft Worth TX today. The traffic was backed up for about 35-40 minutes and going about 5-10 Mph. As we get closer to the "problem", I'm in the right lane and see flashing blinkers from about 15-20 cars away. I know we have to be getting close to getting out of this traffic. As I drive closer to the "accident" I notice its a HUGE fifth wheel trailer that has the Ford SUPER DUTY add all over the back (test something or other). As 20 other cars are rubber necking at the truck pulled over I notice its one of the advertising mules they have on the Ford site about the F-450.
The trailer and the truck are splashed with a HUGE add advertising the NEW F-450.... I was driving and didn't have time to study the add but it was one of the trucks that is on the Ford site. Its some type of advertising test mule they are putting a million miles on or something ( I read and watched the VID on the Ford site)

HERE IS THE PUNCH LINE ~ The hood was up and liquid on the ground just in front of the truck on the ground. As I was rolling at 5 Mph I saw two guys in sitting on the ground with both doors open toward the median, all the flashers on Etc.....
Just thought this was some REALLY bad press for the time they were sitting there with about a million cars looking "RUBBER NECKING" at this HUGE Ford billboard of the new F-450........... Just thought to myself WOW ! Not good a good day for the Ford guys, or the factory!

I like the way Fords look and the cab is big. It's comfortable inside. Of course the Powerstroke is a joke.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion.....but I disagree. I think they are ugly as sin. The previous front ends look alot better than the current ones. They just overdid the chrome, square front end thing, imo.

They are comfortable though. I looked them over pretty good at the Texas State Fair. I'll keep what I got!

I have a friend that has owned Cummins all his life. He bought the 1st one to come to town about 2 months ago or so. He hates it. he said the dual turbo's are a joke, and he gets 8MPG unloaded. He has not hauled anything super heavy, but says it is for sure not better than any CTD he has ever owned from a towing standpoint. I'll keep the wife's megacab anyday.....

Can't blame Ford for trying to prove their product to the public. Their sales have gone way down. What I think is funny is that they're relieved and proud their truck made it to the 150k mark.

Did anyone else notice him say that the trailer was a fifth-wheel. It looked like a gooseneck hook-up to me.
