The new Cheby Diesels smell funny!!!

Wasn't sure where to put this so if it is in the wrong place sorry to the mods!!

I just got home from a 5500 mile trip and on that trip I was around tons of cars. Has anyone been behind the new chevy diesels at highway speeds? The first one that passed my smelt funny. It had an unusual smell when I was behind it. I just figured it was just that truck. The longer I was on the road the more I was around and really watched my sniffer when they went around and all of them had this "odor". I did not notice it from the new fords or any of the new dodges. Just wanted to know if anyone else had noticed this.

Well I try not to follow them either but when I am loaded heavy I dont have many options!!!

The smell is hard to explain it isnt very strong just has a little odor that you can kinda pick up when they are in front of me at about 70-80mph.

I was close enough to a new ford that I got a good nose full and immediately though that doesn't smell right, not very diesel smelling. A few minuets later I was behind a old smoky dump truck and got a good nose full to confirm my thinking about the ford, I'm thinking it's the particle trap

I haven't got to smell a new one with the dpf yet, but I know the LLY and LBZ Duramaxes with the catalytic convertor still on them definetly have a nasty odor to them. I believe its the cat that makes this smell because I had a LLY and when it had the cat still on it, it had that smell. But when I replaced it with a piece of pipe the smell went away and it had the natural diesel exhaust fume smell.
