How about Yokahama? I have recently installed a set, but in a larger dia than you are looking at, and so far prefer them over my old BFG's.

 

I originally had a set of P195/75R/14 Yokahama all season tires on my 1987 Ram D-50 Dodge/Mitsubishi from the factory. They were exceptionally good tires, and stayed in balance for at least 30k miles and were replaced at around 70k miles. They wore like iron and never seemed to loose air pressure. They were not a harsh riding tire either. I hauled a lot of weight in that sturdy little pickup running on those tires. I have had two replacement sets on that D-50 since the OEM Yokahama tires and never had as good wear out of the Canadian Tire Motomaster tires. Now Hercules tires seem to be standing up somewhat better and longer.

I looked at Yokahama fifteen inch tires for our GMC half ton pickup and they did not seem like sturdy tires to me, so I put Silent Armor on the GMC pickup and I am sure happy I went with Goodyear. The GMC pickup went through two sets of Firestone Tiger Paw P rated tires and they did not seem like real sturdy tires. The Fountain Tire dealer told me the vibration in our steering wheel when braking hard was from the Firestone belts not being wide enough to cover the total width of the tire tread. The Tiger Paws still had an eighth of an inch to wear before reaching the wear bars.

 

I also run the innovative balancing beads and love them.

Consumer Report has an article in their Nov. issue. In AT tires, Michelin LTX AT2 recived this best treadlife rating. Silent Armor was #2. The Goodyear performed better in snow. They did not measure mud, go figure. They seem to rate their tires more for street performance. I have 25k or so on my Silent Armors and have been very pleased with all aspects. I have not seen much ice.
50k out of any set of tires on these rigs is not bad. If you get a higher milegage tire like the Michelin, their is usually a trade off .

Forgive me for appearing like a complete idiot. Those Tiger Paw tires are from Uniroyal and not Firestone as I mistakenly wrote in my last message. I must be getting too old to think straight because I do not know what made me write Firestone instead of Uniroyal. I have looked at those Uniroyal tires on that GMC pickup for ten years whenever I check air pressure, repack front wheel bearings, replace disk brake pads, wash the truck wheel rims and give the ball joints a grease job, etc. I do not know why my thought said Uniroyal and my fingers typed in Firestone. There is a thin line between sanity and insanity.
