Need Advice, Found 98 12v 4x4 for $12000

Well i dont need a truck, but the one that i found is too good of deal to let pass by. Here are the specs. 98 12v qaud Cab, four doors that open, long bed 4in lift, 4x4 black and silver with ONLY 105K miles on it which is the kicker. The truck exterior is in mint shap, only a few dimples on the top of the tailgate bed rail. The interior is not bad, it just needs a little elbow grease to bring it back to life. Tranny shifts smoothly. The truck just had $1800 worth of front end parts put into it and it is really nice and tight. It is currently owned by a deisel mechanic that needs to get rid of it. He has owned it less then a year and has only put 2k miles on it. He is selling it because he needs to buy another truck for his company. The motor has not been messed with at all, it is still all in stock form. Let me know what you guys think and if there is anything that i should check for. I am going back tomorrow to take another look at it. Thanks for your help

thanks, that what i thought as well, i figure the truck would have to be worth at least 14500 or 15000 the way it sits right now. If i buy it i just might have to clean it up and resell it for financial reasons, but it seems to me that it is just to good of a deal to let slip buy, plus i think the guy selling it will take even less for it.

I hope you don't mind, but I have a question kinda on the similar track...I got my truck (see sig) with 124,000 on it and I got it for around $11,500...was I really lucky or is this about right for this truck?

You paid about average... The 12v 98 (especially 4x4) are pretty desirable because they have the mechanical pumps, and rear doors. Plus the one he found is a long bed, which makes it even more desirable to some of us.

I don't think I will ever own another 2wd, I had one, spent way to much time stuck. And not because I was playing.

Haha yeah i forget about the whole no 4x4 thing being cheaper. I wish I would have gotten a 4x4, but it was kind of a spur of the moment thing, and the only 4x4's they had on the lot were brand spankin' new so I would have had to pay about 30k more

That's around the range for a long bed.

So does this sound like it is about the average price for a long bed, 4x4 12v or does it sound like a real great deal? Thanks again

I paid close to 17 for mine when it had 50K miles on it (SWB 4x4 nv4500) with a pretty good exterior and a real nice interior (slt), so I'd say that your doing pretty good for a quad cab 12V.
