Oooops! Ford will have to agree to before it's over. But could potentially hit the supply chain and extend delivery times. Some people may be forced to look at the better options.

so i was at the horse expo this weekend and there was a 6.4 sitting there, so i waited for the sales guy to walk up then loudly gestured to my friend "wow, would hate to drop a wrench in there, wonder how long till the first cast of malfunction comes out. Remember they said the 6.0h no was to be VERY reliable, and look how that turned out"
neeedless to say he walked off all embarrassed, since there were people sitting there VERY interested in buying one, who walked off as well.
I think its about time that navistar got the backbone to tell ford no. Its only a matter of time till ford burns that bridge

As long as Ford insists on using a Navistar engine, why don't they just give up on V-8 and put something like this in their trucks:

Not really...they would still use the junk VVT, and HEUI injection...the 466's haven't switched to CR yet.
My buddy works at our local school bus garage on a fleet of 47 buses...the newer 466's G2 injectors are better, but they still have some failures. Also, the VVT's "foul" or "stick" just like the 6.0's, so they're a big pain!
No engine is without trouble when using the complicated systems that the EPA forces manufacturers to use to pass emissions standards! Some just have less trouble than others!
The nice thing about a 466 is it's a wet sleeve engine...easy to rebuild!

Looks like this could be another bad year for Ford.
This is another headline from yahoo business basically stating if this extended for more then a month Ford could loose $11.6 billion in anual revenue.

Let alone to say that Navistar was taken off the the New York Stock Exchange because of late filing. Never a good sign in the investor's world.

Ford isn't ever going to learn, are they? It's almost like they want to see how loyal their customers are by continually releasing untested engines. Now they aren't even going to get the untested engine because ford managed to make navistar mad...Good going Ford.

the DT360 is comparable to the ISB 5.9 Basically the same size of engine. Not always as reliable as the 466, but very close. Would be worth a look for any company serious about building a diesel powered light truck.

We need a DTR project to make the Frankenstein truck. All the good from the big 3 minus all the bad. Cummins engine, allison tranny, dana axles (solid) np205 transfer case, freightliner frame...any other suggestions?
