I ran Mobile 1 in my Chevy Cavalier for almost 6 years and 220K miles, never had a problem. No leaks, didn't use any oil, and Never had any problems with the engine, which is unheard of for that little Chevy 2.2L I-4. Matter of fact, the only reason I got rid of that little car was to buy my CTD

I have never had a lubrication-related problem with any vehicle that used/uses Mobil I (or RP for that matter).

Oh, and I use Delo 400 in the Cummins.

Times they are a changing! I've been using Mobil-1 5w-20 in my Hemi powered Ram with good results. It uses less than 1/3 qt in 5k miles and still looks pretty good coming out. We tow heavy and in some heat here in Florida. It was 102*F on I-75 in Gainesville last August as we returned from Mississippi. I haven't done a UOA but those who have are seeing very good results with 5w-20 in gassers. Some better than 10w-30. I about fainted when I read the owner's manual calling for 5w-20 chinese tea but I've since come to accept it. Same with 75w-90 gear lube for the rear end.

Well, I wish they would hurry up and get the Mobil I 5W-20 on the shelves here in the Houston area. It wasn't on the shelf at O'Reillys when I bought oil last Saturday.

I have friend with a '95 suburban that just passed 511,000 miles with the original 350 that has never been touched. His only major repair has been the trany that was rebuilt at 476,000 miles. He has used Mobil 1 since 10,000 miles. Sounds like a good comercial for mobil 1.

I was running Mobil 1 5w-20 in the Hemi, but now I can't find it at Walmart or anywhere else. So at the last oil change I switched to Royal Purple 5w-20. Whole lot easier to find around here.

I've always thought of (synthetic) Rotella as one of the "Tier 1" oils, but towards the bottom of that ranking and with Delvac 1 near the top. But what I'm wondering is I see Wally World has Rotella for almost the same price as Mobil 1, so unless I'm under a false perception then I'd be paying the same for a lesser oil. Am I wrong or are you all talking about the non synthetic Rotella? (Which can be had for under $50 for 5 gals )

Rotella synthetic utilizes a Group III (ultra-refined hydrocarbon) base stock. Delvac 1 and Mobil 1 are Group IV synthetics that utilize a polyalphaolefin (PAO) base stock.

Cam bearings? Just wondering, did you pull the pan and look at the rod bearings?

I had the same problem not finding that oil. I actually went to about 15 walmarts on my vacation to Arkansas and picked up a quart here and a quart there. I asked the guy in Missouri I think and he mentioned Katrina. Its a good oil for sure. I run it to about 10,000 miles.

Well I just passed 10k on my Mobil 1 and would to be ready to drain it out if my oil analysis comes back shakey. I ended up calling about 7 Walmarts, out of those I found 2 which have enough combined single quarts to make an oil change but no more. I emailed Walmart about this as well, hopefully they can just order it. Anyone else have luck finding it yet?

What kind of Amsoil did you get? Their synthetic 15w40?
