Mini Kenworth semi with a miniature Cummins turbodiesel

That said:
The mini truck is a borderline thing. It an awesome compared to an Ertl 1:16th scale cast/stamped pot metal toy. (I believe this is what they had set out to do, create an awesome toy)
On the other hand it is so close to a real truck that it can be compared to a real rig (and compares in price as well) and for practical purposes is pretty much useless, so it seems lame.

One word you guys seem to overlook. "toy"! Some buy cars, others mod diesel trucks. Some buy airplanes/helicopters. This guy wanted a scale model truck. Just because it's not what you would do doesn't make it dumb or lame. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter how dumb or lame they may be.

eveyone seems to be missing the whole beauty of it though.............being 100% a business advertising write-off.
it doesn't matter how much it cost to him I'm sure of it. buddy owns a trucking Co. makes a scale version to advertise. cause its cool.....cause he can.........cause the COMPANY is paying for it!

The mini Kenworth semi with a miniature Cummins turbodiesel is indeed a cool project. The fact that Cummins built a custom engine specifically for this guy shows the level of commitment behind the project.
While some might argue it's a lot of money to spend on what is essentially a ""toy,"" I can see the appeal. If the owner is using it for advertising purposes for his trucking company, it could be a clever way to write off the expenses as a business investment.
I get that some might view it as an extravagant expense, but we all have our own interests and ways of spending our money. For some, it's cars, trucks, or other custom builds. For others, it might be collecting rare items or investing in unique experiences. At the end of the day, if it brings joy and serves a purpose, why not?
