I use to run powerservice and it liked it. i did notice little difference in the truck and fuel mileage when i first started funning it. now i run schaeffer's soy shield, i gave it a try because i got a few bottles for free and i can now get it about as easy as i can get poweservice so i just run the soy shield. my truck runs quieter and i noticed a little bit better mileage than i had with powerservice. I've nver run lucas so i'd go with the powerservice if i were you.

I have tried everything as far as addative are concerned. Started experimenting with my olf PSD. Lucas is great but does not have a anti-gel property in it. Stanadyne is great, but you don't need to use it all the time. Powerservice is cheap and easy to obtain. Two-stroke oil is cheap but does not clean injectors.
My newest additive mix is canola oil with powerservice, 8oz of each. I bought a case of stanadyne and I use it every two to three tanks. I am going to see how the canola oil pan out next tank. I think as long as you are using some sort of addative and not spending too much money for it, your doing the job. Run a addative and run it hard and usually no problems will occur.

I just started using Powerservice (the silver bottle). Seems to be a famous choice and I like the fact that it has cetane boost. I also like how it's made only for diesel engines, whereas Lucas is like a "universal" additive for either gas or diesel. Not to mention that it's cheap and easy to get.

Since the CTD first came out in '89 I've tried most all of them, Stanadyne, Lucas, Howe's, Power Service and recently Schaeffer's. The only one that gave me any mpg increase was PS in the silver bottle but even that didn't pencil out for the amount of mpg gained per dollar spent.
PS in the white jug in the winter only for anti-gel is the only one I currently feel is worth using because it's cheapest, readily available and definitely keeps the fuel from gelling.
I do run 20% biodiesel though which does far more than any additive and at current fuel prices is costing the same as straight #2
