Lucas Fuel Treatment

Yall are gonna think I'm nuts, but over the past 7 tanks, I've ran/not ran Lucas and I can tell a big difference in mileage. On Lucas, I can get 400+ miles from a tank. Off Lucas, 350 or so. Not a big difference, but enough for me to tell yall about it. Just thought I'd give yall a quick heads up.

You're not nuts ..... I've also noticed a drop in mileage when I don't add a fuel treatement.

I was using the Power Service? (White bottle) and noticed a 50 - 75 Mile jump with that also seemed to just run better!

Yep the Lucas works...it better for $7.99 a bottle...however to see a 2 mpg jump it MAY NOT be worth it

A 2001 QC Shortbed 4x4 auto with 35" tires, 3.54 gears, 4" exhaust and scotty 2. City driving sucks in my truck. My best is 450 out of a tank.

The mileage is a 24 valve thing. I'd be upset if I didn't hit at least 350 miles at half tank.
The additive mpg increase may be a 24 valve thing also. I've used several different brands including Lucas on my 12s and have never noticed any difference in mpgs.

I'm averaging 16 a tank. Which considering my size, gear ratio, and the amount of stop and go driving I do, I'm happy with it. It's still better than my mom's Dmax.

my 96 12 valve is getting 500 miles per tank with a 4.10 rear end and a 7,000 weight without any treatment.

Last Tank filled full to the neck. All my fills are filled to the neck since new. 675 miles travelled took 35 gallons to fill. That tank was 19.2 mpg 60% highway and no load or towing. Had to spank a couple of rice burners and small block gasser trucks. Wonder if I didn't get on it and dove the limit what the mileage would be. But I can't help it, this is my mid life sport car in 3/4 ton camoflage. She is still a virgin with 6500 miles on her as I bought her with zero mile in May of this year. Nobody wanted a white reg cab so the dealer finally moved on the price. Use Fleetguard Asphaltene (spelling?) conditioner I get from the local cummins dealer for 7.95 a pint that treats 250 gals.

I don't let it get that low. Most I've ever put in it was 30 gallons. I usually only put 25 gallons in it. Forrest, it would seem to work like that, but it doesn't.

well, that makes more sense... if you only put 25 gal in it, 400 miles doesn't seem so bad...

but I was thinking you were filling up at 30+ gallons.

I generally put 30-32gal in.

Forrest
