the LS1 forum's opinion of the "diesel fad"

700lbs over the front axle, 700lbs OVER THE FRONT AXLE!!!!!!!!! Man what a turdbag, plain SBC weighs it at 550lbs, duramax I think is 200lbs heavier and the cummins is 500lbs heavier then a gasser. I dont see where the extra 500-700lbs comes from?

I love the fact that I bought a diesel because I can (just like they bought an LS1 because they can) and THEY are the ones loosing sleep over it.
Really intelligent conversation with the swearing/personal attacks/lack of facts. Sounds like a group of high schoolers that know everything .
Either way, we just need to prove to them what makes out trucks that much better on the street/strip. I need to make my '92 into a sleeper (my $45k '92 ) and beat them all.
Pat
ps- what i dont get is they attack their competition (diesels) rather than an invitation to a competition????

I don't understand the "They don't need it" line. The last time I checked, this is a country based on freedom to choose. Sounds like they want to take that away. They sound like a bunch of liberal, high school mush heads.

That was pretty sorry. Where are they shopping for diesel trucks? $45,000?? yeah, if you just fell off the pumkin truck. One thing I did get from reading that thread, INCENTIVE!
I've alway been a Mopar guy, so I don't know much about the LS1, but I wouldn't complain about someone buying a car to hop up and run brackets. What does a LS1 go for anyway? Maybe I'll buy a couple! Using their logic, by me owning a diesel I should be able to afford it.
Why? would anyone buy a car just to wash and polish and ride around on sunny days, looking in fear as the dark storm clouds approach, realizing that he is a long way away from his tiddy garage. He pulls under the underpass waiting the strom to pass. With a shigh of relief he begins his journey back home, he applies his turn signal to merge into traffic only to be meet by another thunderous black cloud. Cummins!

I love the line where the guy says
"Diesels suck off road. Probably right there but so does a gas powered dually. Not to mention ya ever tried to four wheel a camaro? I owned a camaro and a firebird and honestly it doesnt work to good either. You really need to compare apples to apples on this one."
Heck, i dont even need my diesel... but i bought it because it holds value, is reliable, gets good gas mileage, and i know i can tow or haul around anything i want whenever i want. Buncha morons for thinking that everyone that buys a truck needs to go mudding. lol

It just looks like the whole premise of that thread is 'why buy a diesel, if you do not tow, haul, or ( to a lesser degree ) race ' . . . .
Maybe it's just me - but I don't know ANYBODY that owns a diesel truck that DOESN'T - tow, haul, or ( to a lesser degree ) race. . . .
