Looking for a truck

I've been looking for a good used truck since I had to sell my '04 3500. (divorce).
I was looking 95-98 cummins manual trans club/quad cab 200K miles give or take....which is right in my budget.

BUT I found a truck on e-bay (yes I'm very aware of the perils of e-bay) that's a 2000 and fits all my other criteria. Biggest issue is that it's in Texas and I'm in Florida. The seller is a car dealer nad has super good feedback and the truck is listed "Buy it now...OBO" for $8990...bluebook is around $14K. It needs tires and has some dings and dents but with 190K miles it's to be expected and it's nothing I couldn't have fixed or even just live with it.

Would you try and get it if you were in the same situation? Now I'd have to have it shipped to me and am also aware of the cost involved there...and obviously I couldn't go look at it (based on my work schedule etc)...but with such good feedback I'm not worried much about that.

Any opinions are appreciated.

Thanks!

Link? There are good trucks on E-bay. usualy with the Texas Diesels is if they have a goose neck hitch it was probably abused bad. If it looks good it might not run so good or have a few hiden problems. it sounds like a good price and shipping would still put it under KBB. Its your call, but it might be a great truck. You could always sell it for more than you paid if you dont like it.

If it were me, I'd be figuring in the cost of a plane ticket to Texas as part of the price. Pretty hard to justify trusting a used car dealer after some of the things every one of us has seen.

I may have to hold off anyway. I had to sell my '04 recently due to divorce...was supposed to get work hotshotting but 1 trip in 8 weeks forced me to sell. Now I found out I may not get any more work from them so I may not be able to justify the purchase of the truck right now.

I strongly support the above statement. Not that they might be totally bamboozling or even a little bit but their definition of whats servicable may not be yours.

Big Jimmy (lots of trucks in Colorado)
