A third vote for Floor It Deisel, but if he cant get in there or anything, Topeka Transmission is a good shop, nation wide labor warrantys.

well thanks for all the help. i guess he is either getting it done at the dealer or in topeka.
here is a story for you: dodge dealer told hom that it would be 4400 for new trans w/o clutch. he talked to a place in topeka and they said they would do a new trans and clutch as well as tow it to their shop for free for 3400. he then called the dodge dealer asked them about a clutch and they then told him 5200!! then he stated the place in topeka would do it for 3400, the dodge dealer said he would call him back.
a few minutes later the dodge dealer calls him back and says they can do it for 3700, ***??!!! isnt their rates based on what STAR says in their book?i feel like they were totally trying to take advantage of him because he was out of town. what do you guys think?

I think I'd go to the place that treated him fair without knowing someone elses quote.
Everybody needs to make a profit in order to stay in business, but it's rare to find a dealer that doesn't try to hose you.

Midwest, My work is about a block from that shop...if he needs a lift, or anything , let me know!
Topeka transmission is probably one of the better shops in the area IMHO.. very up front and honest. Average shop rate 'round here is $95/hr, they are still at $75 or so last I knew...
BUT... he watns to avoid a certain "chain store" shop here in teh area.. bad rep and lots of complaints..pm and I'll give ya the name..
