A Big Thank You

BUCKSHOTMCKEE and KERMA, a big thank you goes to both of you! We had my wife's TDI in for service today, and I printed out our conversation to give to them. Upon start up this morning, they agreed that it smoked way too much. During the first two test drives they also agreed the car was rough but their scanner showed nothing. Finally on their third drive, the scanner showed some problem with the fuel pump, (I don't know the details yet). Even though the car is out of warranty, because we complained about the problems previously they are going to honour the repair and it won't cost us anything for a new pump. The pump is on order and will be installed in about two weeks. I truely believe that without the helpful insight from you guys we'd still be smoking and stumbling away. Thanks!

I just bought a new Passat TDI this weekend! What a great car!
I've driven it over 400 miles so far on the first tank and averaged 40.6 mpg. The engine is like a mini Cummins in the way it's tuned. Driving along in 5th at about 1,500 RPM it will pull away and accelerate on up. Not dramatic but the low end power is definately there. Passing brings 90 mph so easily. I'm sure it would cruise all day a 100 if asked to.
I'm so jazzed.

Congrats on the new Passat. I agree, those new Passats with the New 2.0L Pump-a-Diesel are a blast to drive, lots of power and very smoooooth.
