I hope you are right, as I plan on acquiring some for my next oil change. Still have to find a JD dealer nearby who stocks this stuff. I am not exactly in an agricultural area. Heck, i'm not even in a cultural area!

I thought Illinois was big corn country.
Any John Deere tractor dealership should have it; when I go through Illinois, I see them all over.
Just make sure you get the PLUS 50 and make sure it is API-CI-4 and don't say CJ-4 anywhere on it.

iev been running synthetic 5w-40 for the last 3 oil changes. will switching to a 15w-40 oil like the JD hurt my truck? i want to do whats right as far as oil and everyone is saying the CJ isnt the best for my 05. so is there such thing as a synthetic JD oil?

Just got back from a Hogan Walker John Deere place in Morris, Il. which is probably the closest to you. On Rt47 north of 80. Picked up ten gallons in 2.5 gallon containers for $138 and some change out the door. Could've saved a few more dollars ($4 to be exact) by getting it in the 5 gallon jugs but it's too much of a hassle to pour from those buckets.
Should be good for quite awhile...
