Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0 V6 Diesel?
Stopped in the local Dodge dealer ordering some parts and also looked at an 08' Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 3.0 V6 diesel for my mom. I liked the idea that its:
A) DIESEL!!!!
B) Roughly the same size, maybe a bit bigger than her last vehicle (98' GMC Jimmy with a now blown motor)
C) Gets respectable mileage,
Now does anyone on here have one of these or have any experience with them? My understanding is that this motor is a Mercedes Benz and was/is being used in Europe? What are the real world MPG #s with these things? 30mpg would be nice to see but I know how Transport Canada tests these things, 50mph on a dyno for a few hours and calculate the average MPG
Thanks!

It has the same price tag as a SRW Big Horn SLT 2500/3500. Go spec one out at chrysler website and see. I like diesels but if I was buying a new SUV it'd be a loaded up gasser. http://www.fourwheeler.com/roadtests...iew/index.html

The Mercedes ML320 BlueTec is priced similar to the Grand Cherokee and has the same engine. If memory serves me it should get around 25 MPG on the highway. Ed B

We love our Jeep Diesel. MPG aren't that impressive, but we have gotten as high as 26.5 mpg on a road trip, when it was new with the small tires on it and no lift. Wife gets around 20 mpg with her short trips and stuff, mpg took about a 2 mpg hit with the lift and tires. MPG depends alot on the people driving them, we enjoy driving too much to get really good MPG. But is still gets about 8 MPG better than I get with my dodge.
They sure are not selling real well out here, people are missing out.
