halerazor-Why would they do that to save it and sell it later?

Sailpipes- i have tried and tried to get ahold of the guy that sells biodiesel here in oak harbor but never got him or a call back i would switch it also if i could get it. i think about now its cheaper than dino right?

but as for all BS all of us blue collar people have had to deal with the last 5-10 years i am supprised that we still elect people to office with absolutaly no blue collar roots. ..........Thats it i'm running for office as soon as m 20 years are done in the good ol navy!(16 to go) so i will be expecting your vote! HAHAHA

We have ourselves to blame, far more than "Corporate greed” for the high cost of fuel. A major reason for the high cost is China, and American’s insatiable appetite for cheap, but disposable, products. Think about that the next time you're Wally world buying an 18" pipe wrench for $1.99.

But if it's any consolation, when all the competitors have been run out of business, the same poor quality Chinese pipe wrench will be $29.99.

Didnt take the time to read ALL the posts but I thought that I'd add, I try to keep up on current events and oil is supposed to jump another .25 by April. Also we are to expect some airline companies to fold by the end of the year because every increase raises their fuel cost by some $170 million dollars since they use billions of gallons a year.

The government is getting us slowly prepared for the ULSD fuel of the future ('06?). It will be $4+/gallon. We will look back and be happy we were paying $2.50/gallon.

2.19 a gallon here in laredo gentleman

the way i see it, its goin up, thats ok, its gettin expensive but its still ok, i dont like the fact, but i bear with it... The way i see it if i stay off it, i filled 3/4 of my tank yesterday, 21.2 gallons, and got 422 miles out of it, mainly hiway driving, it cost me 50 bills, that about 20 mpg, i cannot complain as long as i stay off of it, its gonna go up, but eventually it might go down... If not, then a lil 4 bang car might be in my works... or a toyota... but my field office aint goin nowhere.. unless i go dirt freagin broke.. I think jiggoloin myself might come before sellin my ram.. unless the price was right of coarse Ill just put up with it, as long as it commutes me, even though its harder on me, i just do what i can for fuel money, give up the luxuries, dry cleaners, iron myself instead, fast food, eat twice a day instead of 3x, less time on the cell phone, and hitch rides whenever possible.. hey you gotta do what you gotta do

Well there may be some benefit to the high fuel prices as some have stated to slow down on their commute time. I have noticed myself in the mornings and afternoons going and leaving the work place the traffic seemed to be doing the speed limit or just under.

Remember a few years ago the slogan "drive 55 and save lives and fuel". Although I do have the ones pulling up next to me I guess seeing the gauges on the a-piller and romping some on the go pedal, like lets race. I just smile and wave. Those gauges are there for my benefit, no heat here just show.

I just believe the higher prices is a gouge,of course to line someones pockets a little more. I've cut way back on my running around time, and going out too. I like reading the money is no object posters the best, I can only dream. There is quite a difference to me though from a man trying to make a living with his truck, most have no choice, but pay the price.

Now is this just speculation to scare us or do you have any real facts to back up your claim that ULSD will be $4+/gal ? It's been for sale in California and other west coast stations through Arco (BP ECD fuel) and the price is only about 10 cents more per gallon.

One thing I've learned for certain to be true is that starting with the 2007 model year onroad diesel engines will have to run on ULSD in order to avoid damage.
No good stockpiling cheaper fuel to burn in a new truck.

Don't know anything about the future, but just remember these couple of thoughts.....1, guess who is making the most money off of fuel.....that's right friends, it's the local, state, and federal governments. So, don't go telling me that it's the oil companies gouging us etc. The number 1 beneficiary of fuel sales is government TAXES!!!! That's right folks. Even you union guys. Don' get me wrong here totally, I'm sure there is a little price gouging going on, but look at the facts. If you eliminated all the taxes on fuel, it would be almost half if not more than half the price it is now. So tell me now, who is making money off of high fuel prices????? 2, With more of the world now competing for "Arab Oil" the price is bound to go up due to supply and demand. It you were a member of OPEC, what would you do if more and more countries were bidding on your product??? It's a no-brainer in my book. 3, this goes with #2 a bit. But when the environmentalist wacko's get legislation passed that prohibits oil exploration in virtually every part or our country, what are the oil companies to do????? That's right folks, you have to buy it from someone else. And with more and more countries bidding for a limited supply, the price is bound to go up!!!! So get over the liberal mentality of "It's big oil screwing us", when in fact there is a whole lot more going on than most people are willing to invest to time in to consider!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeehaw! I just paid 2.35 at flying J in bakersfield...the worst part is I'm excited to find it "that cheap"...it's around 2.65 in central Cal. when I bought my truck a year ago it was 1.65!!! The stupidity and legislative power that the tree huggers have is absolutely overwhelming...and the dang commies keep pushing more taxes through, guess that's why gov't jobs usually pay better than the honest hardworking jobs most of us have...
Between the welfare checks going out to lazy SOB's, retirees getting 70-100% salary and pissing money to mars to find stupid frozen(or melted) rocks....I'm about fed up, but what can we do about it?

Oh and about the driving a smaller car thing, it works great unless some underinsured idiot pulls out in front of you and you snap your femur, hit your head and can't work for a year. I'm still only part time and am going to therapy for my brain damage. After going through that mess I don't mind one bit paying a bunch more money for my big truck and absurd diesel prices...and I really appreciate everyone else driving tiny cars, cause the only thing that's going to happen to me when the next idiot pulls out in front of me is I'm going to have to get a rental truck until I find a replacement! If I get something small again I'll get a motorcycle...with those you either scrape some skin or die, I just don't want to ever be trapped inside a small vehicle sitting on a 20 gallon puddle of gas wondering if I'm going to burn to death or bleed to death first...trust me it's an awkward feeling.

Save the animals, hunt treehuggers!!

Bootlegging diesel, especially UNTAXED diesel or biodiesel would be difficult and very risky. Making your own bio or even having a coop for making it would be much less risky. AFAIK you can make up to 200 gallons without paying any tax. I doubt you'd run into any trouble with going over that unless they were watching you or somebody turned you in.

<disclaimer> I'm NOT advocating that anyone evade any tax or do anything else illegal. </disclaimer>
