Its finally came to this!!

This is what was in today's newspaper for our little town.

This is rediculous. They have also banned kids skateboarding on Main Street and from sitting in the park past 11 o'clock. And they wander why young people commit crimes.

Why are you so mad abought that??? All they are doing is telling you not to break laws already in place. Personaly I agree with them. I have altered my truck and it will blow a little smoke if prompted to but I try to minimize it. I dont think there is any one thing cool abought belching big clouds of black smoke every time you get on the go peddal. I am a young person and want the air I breath 50 years from now to be clean and if that means not blowing big clouds of black smoke for nothing more than display then so be it. Now dont get me wrong I realize I am comming across as a tree hugger but nothing could be farther from the truth. I battle the tree huggers when I ride my ATV around the Colorado mountains and there is a point where they go to far,but I personaly see nothing to be gained buy blowing big clouds of black smoke from my truck. Especaly when there are laws already in place prohibiting it. Besides that black smoke is just wasted fuel/power.

OK flame away. I klnow most on this site balive big clouds of black smoke =cool but it just does nothing for me. I would rather see a good display of power than smoke to me the two just are not conected. You dont need to smoke a LOT to make power.

I wonder they would chill if one were to rig flame throwers up to help minimize those clouds of extra fuel??? LMAO!!!

I seen this comming. I know guys that will black out 3 lanes of interstate thinking it's cool. Well my family also drives those same roads & I would hate to hear they got in a wreck because of it. There is a time & place for everything, like the track.
Ok I'll get off my soap box now.

Thats rediculous, I'll blow out as much black smoke as I want, I dont care what the law says! That article just makes me want to blow more smoke out. If its the enviroment they are concerned about then what about all these other fools with gas engines, no cats, high horsepower motors, think they will meet emission standards?? no. Just because you can easily see our exhaust gasses doesnt mean its worse. smoke=cool

Final word: I'm not gonna stop blowing smoke.

I have already posted on other threads that I have to be careful while city driving. I have the boxes turned almost off most of the time. I dont like irritating most people and no reason to give the local police a reason to take a second look. Black smoke is ok on the drag strip, but even there it is only getting all over the bumper and does not make it go faster.

I've said it before.......
Be careful, that Yuppie that you just smoked out (or anyone else in traffic with them who got "smoked") could also be a registered voter who knows someone, who knows someone, who knows someone who can make all our lives miserable.

What you are also doing by belching smoke is turning off the majority of people to diesels. If it ever comes around to new laws or voting which way do you think they will go?

I personally see black smoke as money out the tailpipe.
If you are doing it for attention you would probably get more by just throwing dollar bills out the window.

Ahh Men!!! Thats is also how me and about 9 other people in this town feel.

Dr.Evil, You hit the nail right on the head with that. That is exactly there problem. You would think they would have better things to do instead of following someone around starring at there exhaust pipe.

As to the other posts i also see your points. However with a huge charger and alot of fuel it is hard to not blow smoke. Huge clouds could be avoided, but whats you dont understand is the police said if they can see it it is too much smoke.

Some people dont like the black smoke and as i have said before if you dont like the black smoke go back to gas, because i feel like that is saying i love beer but dont like to drink. I will not quite blowing smoke. I dont try to blow smoke so people cant see or anything like that i blow smoke when noones behind me. That is just my .02$

I agree with you 100% dezlsmkr and Dr. Evil. The cops in my town seriously have nothing to do. WHen it is our High School lunch hour, they flood from the station like a plague, literally, 20 cars leaving at onces from the police station, 10 minutes before our lunch. Our PD is horrible...They try to search anyones vehicle for no reason, just so they can try to look good. And then it comes down to my truck. My loud little 24v that hardly smokes, just a small PUFF if a floor it, and they want to go after me, while my friends powerstroke will black out the student parking lot...So I personally agree, we will keep on smoking, one, because diesel goes from the atmosphere or whatever faster than gas, and Gas engines are just plain out Icky. And my truck passed emitions....With a little help from my parents...and an extremely nice aunt working at the DMV...

There is nothing wrong with the black clouds of smoke

If you use them to rid a tailgater off your butt, I will have some pics of my rig, IT SMOKES LIKE CRAZY.... But i keep that to a bare minimum as much as i possibly could. sometimes it will smoke a lil bit when i take off and in gears, its a slow mover when i get off it, but it also saves fuel, If im being tailgated ill smoke the person just enough so that they back off... But like Infidel said, its money out the window, with diesel at 3.09 here and school still inline, i dont think i will add more fuel anymore until i get the twins to actually clear up the air now. I backed off my plate and the starwheel, its fun, but it gets expensive....

On edit.. ive been ticketed for smoke.. Its considered exhibition and is now a 125 dollar fine.....

i can see how they could have a case against someone who bombed, but what about an older mechanical engine? or a big rig? i recently replaced the fuel pump on a 20 year old cummins 290 that hadn't run in a while. road tested it and it blocked out the sun. did it have defective exhaust and was i driving carelessly or imprudently? no. it simply wasn't burning all the fuel i put into it. ever seen an older mack truck? i would really like to see the language of the actual laws here. seems there is much ignorance and confusion on the part of the police department.

oh yeah, you can't get a ticket it they can't catch you

I too would be interested in how it is written. To much smoke is a very subjective term. Personally I don't like to blow plums out my exhuast for all of the reasons here. But as I challenged my B-in-L girl friend the other day I'll suck on my trucks exhaust while she sucks on Sunfires and see who lives longer. People worry about things they can see. ESPECIALLY if it does not effect them. That is how people work and if we want to advance our cause we have to work with that in mind. There is a time and place if you want to play. Driving down the street is not a time to play of any kind. It doesn't matter what kind of idiocy it is.

I,aswell would like to see how it was written. We have seen a copy of all the ordinaces and this was not in there. It just said all vehicle must be equipped with proper exhaust as a modern gas engine should. Well we dont have a gas engine so i think it is just a bunch of B.S that we wont be able to do anything about because were not somebody.
