since there are all kinds of diesel engines on that list besides just automobile diesels then id say the list is completely bogus...by the time you put all the industrial diesel engines ( mining, power generation, agriculture, locomotives, heavy machinery etc.) through the list, even our mighty lil cummins wouldnt make the cut...most of the engines mentioned on the list are a joke
just my 2 cents.....sounds like a list that some college kids came up with while surfing the net

I'm not taking anything away from the cummins(great motor) but you have to admit chevy is here to stay!

I think you guys are going a little to extreme on this, you dont like one article so youll never read it again? i also agree that the dmax is a good engine (i wont comment on the rest of the truck) Ive seen a dmax with stock internals, tuning, tranny, NOS, and LP run 11.9's, i think their a dang good engine.

I just got my new copy. Interesting, I get the Sept. issue in July. They build up an 04 auto. The qualm I have with this issue is they do not specify if the 04 is 555 or 600. The [color=red]edit[color] complaints I see from some people on this site will be 1.that the Duramaxs came in above the Cummins in alot of the tests for the Diesel Power Challenge. The Dodges did dominate in the sled pulls. The guy that won over all started dieselplace.com. 2.The editor does not say he owns anything diesel but an 85 Blazer. 3. That they are apologizing for having a Dodge that did not match up with the Dorf and Chaby in the Big 3 Shoot Out.

Well besides the bias opinions and such. My number 1# reason for not liking Diesel power mag is simple. I ordered the mag online about 5 or 6 months ago. Got one issue and never a bill. Then about 3 weeks ago i got the bill for the 1yrs subsbriction. Then 1 week later i got another letter from a collections agency for not paying the bill . Man i am so done. I love my diesels but i think ill stick to the forums for info and such and just stick with good ol hot rod mags and be done with it.

I'm not shook about that DMax...it was a loose grenade waiting to blow....stock junkyard motor with enough drugs to blow the crank straight out the bottom, no wonder they didn't let it pull the sled gassed up, probably woulda shot aluminum 3 city blocks

The guy with the Dodge wins the truck and trailer pull and the first sled pull. He came in fourth in the second sled pull. Isn't it those two qualities that matter in a work truck? Somehow, the two guys that finnished behind him beat him overall! They put in stuff about the Cummins but this is the second ridiculous article in a row! Rich
