Questions i have to answer are:
What Makes up diesel engines?
What was their purpose?
What makes them powerful, yet fuel efficent?
How is diesel made?
What types of engies r there? (inline six, v8 ect.)
Where do most problems arise in diesel engines?
What kind of job opportunities are the and what are some salaries?
Any help is appreciated. Ill pm you if i use your knowledge to make sure its ok.
thanx

I suspect that you're writing an english paper on diesel engines for the exercise of writing, so I'll offer some help:
* There's no such thing as a Tib bit. It's tidbit.
* Since you're writing a formal English paper, you should avoid using AOLese as in "What types of engines r there?" It's, "what type of engines are there?" "Thanks" instead of "thanx" and "doing", not "doin".
* There's a tidbit of punctuation you should familiarize yourself with; it's called an apostrophe. You use it to indicate contractions and possesiveness, but not plurals. For example, "Its an isearch." In this case, you're using a contraction of two words: It and is, so the proper word to put in there is "It's", as in "It's an isearch." Contrast that to the 3rd person possesive form of "its" with no apostrophe.
* When you refer to yourself in the 1st person, you need to capitalize it. "I" when referring to yourself is always capitalized. Also, when you use a contraction of "I" and "am", it's "I'm", not Im.
Finally, if it's an I_search paper, shouldn't you be doing the searching rather than having us do it? But here, I'll get you started: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question399.htm

Joel is just offering constructive criticism Happy.
I also noticed the lack of punctuation and use of slang that wouldn't go over well in my days of writing English papers.
Best to practice it all the time when writing so as not to get lazy, plus it makes your idea easier to get though to the greater number of people.

Fearthedeer,
check the tech facts on this website they r helpful. Never mind those critical guys. Its what u'll get when you get round a bunch of diesel junkies. Sorry for the gramatical errors . generashun gap, u no how it is.

What Makes up diesel engines? - alot of things look that up
What was their purpose? - i think locomotives but not sure
What makes them powerful, yet fuel efficent? - compair the diesel cycle to the spark ignited gas cycle talk about 2 strokes and 4 strokes
How is diesel made? - its refined im not sure how though
What types of engies r there? (inline six, v8 ect.) - single cyl I2,3,4,5,6 V6,8,12,16 those are the ones i have seen
Where do most problems arise in diesel engines? - discuss fuel gelling in cold temps and hard starting in cold temps that relates to the difference in diesel and spark ignited engines
What kind of job opportunities are the and what are some salaries? - heavy equip operator/mechanic, big rig operator/mechanic, automotive diesel mechanic, farmer you will have to look up the salaries
hope that helped thats the best i can do on 2 hours of sleep

How long do you expect your paper to be? I think you could do the whole thing on "What makes up a diesel engine. It depends on how technical you get. Judging by the fact it is for an English class, you won't be getting too technical? If I were reading it I would like to see the combustion equation pointing out that diesel is Cetane, not Octane, and the Pressure vs. Volume diagram for the Diesel cycle. If I remember correctly, the combustion equation points out that diesels are cleaner than gas engines in some emissions categories; not NOx though. That would be interesting to point out to a humanities teacher.
I'm a technical guy so I always hated writing papers for English classes, but I always got graded well. Just make sure your structure is well laid out. Put your thoughts in order. Use information your instructor (or the person grading the paper) can understand. Put all of the general background information in the introduction.
