you should come around where i live. i don't know what is in the air, but 2 little used roadside dealers have a total of 4 12v's sitting on their lots, and 2 2nd gen 24v's and one 03. from the road they all look in great shape. kinda interesting.

I'm on the inside looking out ! I have 2 12valves and both are very good trucks .
I I came from the ford side a little over a year ago and never looked back ...I went from having a brand new unrelible ford too a 12valve and its the best truck I ever owned !
I feel into 2 more 12valves ... one I striped for parts and the other was another great truck .
My question is will I like the newer 24valves ...I am burned on buying anything brand new any more but I do see a 24 valve in my future ...
Will I like the new trucks ?

Thanks guys

Sorry about the Hi jacking !

the 3rd gen trucks are awesome... they make killer power with very little done to them. The automatic tranny in them is much stronger than the 2nd gen autos. a set of head studs will have you holding 65psi.

I was torn in half deciding between a 3rd gen and another 12v, but the lower cost, better fuel mileage, and ease of modification/maintanence pushed me into another 12v.

but yes, I think you'll be very happy w/ one of the newer trucks. I pay ZERO attention to 2nd gen 24v trucks, but I'd love to have a 3rd gen.

Well mines a first gen but it is a 12 valve, and i aint getting rid of it simply because, its a nice dependable truck, i just cant see the logic in buying a new one. Mine can do anything a new one can and its paid for. But I am considering a 4x4 conversion

BTW wheres Alvin texas ?

I loved my old square body, but there's a lot a new truck can do that yours can't untill you throw some money at it!

Alvin is just south of Houston

Mine's for sale. But for enough money to replace it with another 97, DD clutch, twins, 435s, Ranchhands, winch... Way more than anyone would ever pay. It is more than a truck. It's my baby. I can't wait till I actually have a third gear synchro...

But it's fun to see the Jones' faces when you tell them how much you love your ten year old truck, and how you wouldn't part with it.

I'm a redneck. I don't care who likes my truck. I do. And I pay for it
