Notice the melt fuses on your cap?

Jim do you know if a homemade setup would work for crossing the border to fill up?

No kiddin' it just cost me $135 to fill it $4.09/gal

Nice install, I always thought this would be the way to go as the aftermarket units are priced way out of my range.

I filed the tank and truck tank 333 $ total plus fuel was .40 $ cheaper than today

now I have one problem ,when I pump it to main tank and shut off the pump ,the fuel will go in the main tank by gravity ,it goes really slow but does not stop I knew it will happen but was not 100% sure , so now I m looking for electrical shut off valve so I can wire it in line with the pump but no luck finding one

And yes one more problem, when I pump in main tank there is no vent on the main tank so air will not escape so now I m thinking to make hole in filing neck and hook hose and return it to aux tank or get vented cap I don’t like the idea with vented cap but it is easy solution will se

I have a ball valve on the big tank in my bed and I put a check valve in the connection I did into the vent line of the factory tank. I still may need the fuel valve I posted the link to above but so far no overflow and doing it all by gravity. Another way to resolve is to run a return line back to your tank in the truck bed so that if electric pump is left on, it will simply circulate the fuel til you turn off the electric pump...without any fuel loss.
I am no longer running an electric pump.

My 200 gal. aux tank i had on my 06 would also gravity feed after i switched the pump off. I just put a ball valve inline. I would shut it off whenever i was ful and open it up at a pitstop. If you have ran through a full tank of fuel from the OEM tank, then your butt and legs are most likely ready for a stretch anyway, so stopping to switch a valve manually shouldnt really be a problem...Most of the time though, when i was towing heavy and using alot of fuel, the valve was left open and the gravity(or siphon action) would keep my OEM tank full until the aux was empty. Then i would see the fuel gauge start going down, then i knew the aux was empty. I just made sure the valve was closed when i was shut down overnight. The heat from the sun would make the aux tank expand with enough pressure without the cap being bled off and it would overfill my OEM tank. This was on my 06 with a flatbed that had the aux tank higher than my fuel door to my OEM tank...

Thanks for the link, it vas good reference I got my valve from local forklift parts store 24 $

I wire it with the pump so when I turn the pump on solenoid is open, works excellent.

Ball valve vas option but the cover must be open to work the valve

so this way it is simple push off button

Now I got new cover so the tank is hidden good

So I'm guessing I can't use the 25 gal. aluminum under floor tank from my boat that I'm planing on junking because it's for a boat not a truck?
