Talking How reliable are the 2006 PSD's (Read)

Now relax, I own a CTD but couldn't help snoopin' around a popular Ford forum. The topic I looked at was titled, "How reliable are the 2006 PSD's". Since reliability is always a huge concern with everyone I was interested to see what folks said. Turns out all the Ford folks believe the PSD is perfectly reliable even those that only have 2000 miles on them. Hmmm, not sure that is enough miles to know but...

Anyway, thought it would be fun and informative to chime in so I recommended buying a Dodge CTD if reliability was the main concern.

WHOA!!!!!!!!! Guess the Ford guys really do hate Dodge, even more than Dodge guys hate Ford.

Yea, I know, probably not the smart thing to do but I wasn't lying, the CTD is much more reliable than any PSD. No offense to PSD owners but its pretty hard to downplay the quality of the Cummins I6.

There I provided some needed factual backup. I can honestly say I hate the 6.0, and i have to work with them and their owners every day. Way to complicated to do the exact same thing, burn fuel and run.

What gets me is International is no dummy. If they would incorporate the DT466 inline design into a pickup, i think they would be right there with Cummins, I guess somethings never change. Let GM and Ford monkey with the v-8 since over time they have proven so great...

I second that. Certainly a bunch of touched individuals.

But hey if every one drove a Dodge we would have no one to pick on

We were on a job the other day and this loud mouth guy that hangs vinal siding pulls up in a ford and jumps out looking at our trucks. We have matching 04s, any way he starts telling us all about how good the furds are and we were trying to ignore him which was hard and then he says " the only problem I've ever had with this truck is the clutch...and well the transmission. When you take off and change to second it always goes aannnnkkkk! and well..another thing or two but thats all really". He says "if I wanted to ride around I'd buy a Chebby and if I was gonna work I'd buy a Furd". I finially said yeah well you know everyone has an opinion. Later that day he pulled out at lunch and we were on the front porch eating lunch, sure enough second gear and AANNNKKKK. We were rolling laughing and I think he saw us, no more Furd talk....What an idiot. I guess they have to sell that junk to somebody...LCH

ive been driving a brand new ford 350 for the last week.reg cab dually with a 30ft bucket-utility body on it.400 miles on it when i received it....my impressions, not biased at all,,dog off the line,,once up to 26-2800,,it lights off and really hauls ,,,very impressive power all the way to 4k,where it shifts nice and firm.this truck would absolutely murder my 05 cummins once it gets lit off........tork shift performs very well,id say equal to the allison......now the kicker, after one week, not even 600 miles on truck now,,,bellowing white smoke, wont clear out for anything, and making some strange, scraping noises under the hood....oh-well,,i told my buddy it wouldnt last till we turned in back in. ...........bama
