Sounds like all the 3rd gen guys are doing well. My reason exactly for buying a new vehicle. But anyway, I think I'll be good for a while once I get these little front-end problems fixed. These trucks are built pretty solid, so I'm not complaining. I realize all moving parts (regardless of make) will eventually wear.

My 2002 3500 4X4, 45000 miles, no repair bills. Warranty covered steering column muti function switch. Two transmission filter changes and tranny oil changes by dealer. Oil/filter change, fuel filter changes, front/rear differential oil change, air filter changes, tire rotations, serpentine belt changeout done by me. Thinking about replacing lift pump myself.

My dad's First service truck was a 92 dodge cummins 5spd ram350 dually short box with bigger injectors and the pump turnned up.

It ate 3 transmissions, 1 front driver side hub and 2 rear ends.

But the old truck is still going strong its are back-up truck.
My dad said he trusts the old 92 better in the bush then he dose his 03.
haha.

Repairs since new!

Well this truck was a lemon since new, with great thanks to the re&re boys at cryslerr and cumins. Low power since new. Steering cost me about $5000.00 over two years because of my lack of income. Engine well that was a dud from the start (gutless). Have wasted about $25,000 on it. 7 lift pumps 3 VP's, second time for injectors. Clutch wasn't needed but thought it would fix the grinding of the gears he also chipped the tooth on the pinion when he was inspecting the rear diff. A truck pulling a?? 18 foot boat tonight left me way behind going up the grade at the Kiskatenaw bridge. He was gone wow THAT IS POWER. I was empty.

I ordered mine new at the end of November 1993.

- Throttle position sensor ~ Covered under warranty.
- Flexplate ~ $250.
- Rear ring and pinion ~ $350.

That's about it.

Anything else has been due to attrition with time or me hot-rodding.
