Up here in Canada so far the only Place I have seen PS is at Cummins, First One truck shops and or other major truck shops. Every where else sells their own name brand, Howes or bio stuff. Side note Cummins sells a Valvoline Cummins approved fuel additive.
As for fuel gelling up here. I have yet to have my regular untreated fuel gell even though -30 has been here and gone. Alot of gelling problems I figure is the amount of water in peoples fuel tanks and or the fuel stations tanks.
I run PS white or silver bottle I buy it for $12-16 Cdn a gallon depending on what shop I get it at.

Regarding the 911 Power Serv. Last week end it was -18 below. and I had 0 PSI on the fuel pres. gage on startup. After about 10 minutes it came up to 1-3 so I started a slow drive around. I stopped a couple times and drained the water drain. As the motor warmed up this seemed to help at least keep it at 3. I have bottle of diesel from before Oct 05 laying in the bed just to see if gelling happens. It doesn't even with this pre winter fuel. So that wasn't the problem. I was still trying to convince myself that I wasn't going to change another filter in well below 0 weather.
Well I finally added the emergency bottle of 911. Within 10 minutes the injector pump quieted down to almost nothing. The psi seemed stable at 3 but that was it. Fuel filter time again. This was a Wix with only 7000 miles on it. So I froze my hands and .....for 15 minutes while I changed the filter. Then got a bath in cold diesel as I bled the filter with the lift pump running. It's fun doing this by yourself inthe cold.

In with the Fleetgard and presto 14 psi at the filter and 15 psi at the lift pump. So I headed out on my trip for the week end. The injector pump was just purring, about as good as it ever has...maybe better. Very noticably quieter that it was. But that 911 is the stinkyest stuff on the planet. even the ex gas stinks different. I don't kow about the life of the IP.. mine's got 150k and still going strong Buddy has 200k on his and he uses 911 all the time up north. I'd have to see real proof of it eating up the IP...maybe I'll be it haha. I doubt very much that a product as popular as PS is would have some bad stuff on the shelf too. It's just not good marketing practice. IE common sense.

My white bottle of PS was gelled when I went to pour it into the tank last week when the temp was -27F. Montana
I thought I would use it as a precaution since the cold snap was coming and I was uncertain as to what blend I was putting in the tank at fill ups.

Never had a gel problem up here in Canada either...untreated.

What is the deal with the Marvel Mystery Oil and Power Service??

When I buy Power Service, I usually dump the whole bottle in the tank.

I know that it says it will treat a whole lot more.

Will I get good results if I measure it into the tank according to capacity and save the rest for later??; or, does it lose its goodies after being opened??

Most fuel companies pre-treat diesel before dumping it in the ground when the temperatures are subject to freezing.

The fuel you are running probably has anti-gel already in it.

I have often wondered on that as well. I throw a third (sometime .5) a bottle per re-fuel. I wonder if thats too little too much. I hate wasting the stuff. I have found that in most things more is not often better, unless you are measuring HP and torque!

I wonder about this because the Howes stuff I used to use when travelling back and forth between cold and warm areas never gelled in the tool box in the bed. This stuff was like lumps of syrup. First time I used it and probably the last and I will go back to Howes. I was unable to get any Howes where I was...hence the PS.

I should add that the Biodiesel additive was more like a slush...worse then the PS.

The blends of fuel vary with the area and climate...I know when I am in Canada...its a safe bet that its already treated but when travelling south, one never knows whats in the ground.

I've never seen Howes locally, but has anyone heard of "Morey's Diesel Quench"? Comes in a gallon for about $20 at the Navy Exchange and has a big rig on the label. Looks alright, but I haven't heard anyone mention it.
