Hot August Nights Truck Show

The following photos were taken at the Hot August Nights Truck Show. The truck show is an event put on by the American Truck Historical Society in Reno Nevada.

I'll spare our dial-up users and hold it at that.

The extra long wheel base can be for many reason. Im not even sure of them all.
However, it often allows for extra length for long cargo, extra long sleepers, and most importantly... they look cool

The show was Saturday morning at the Alamo Truck Stop just off I-80.
There were a lot of trucks, I was unable to get a shot of them all, but it was a pretty good show.

Im not sure which Pete your referring too as there were a couple there that had twin turbo's.

Great stuff.

Sorry, no, there were no jet powered trucks, that I saw.
However, be it known that I was only there for about two hours in the morning.
I did not see all the trucks as more rolled in later in the day.

There was a black Pete there (no pictures) that sat on air bags front and back.
He had his rig lowered to the point where the front bumper was on the ground.
He was not alone as there were several trucks there that all had been lowered, some lowered to just a 1/2 inch off the ground.

All were very nice trucks!

We have a few truckers around here that bend a front bumper every month. If someone asks them why they spend so much money replacing bumpers all the time they just say "It takes lots of money to be cool"

Hey DieselDaze.. is this truck show put on in conjunction with the annual Hot August nights car show? I live in the southern end of the state and have never heard about it. I'd like to make it to one of the truck events...is it annual and at the same date as the car show?? Thanks

Red1ton,
Yes, This truck show is part of the Hot August Nights annual car show.
The car show starts Thursday and goes through Sunday.
The truck show is (usually) Saturday morning.
For the past few years, its been at the Alamo (Petro) truck center on I-80 in Sparks Nevada.
We had a very good turnout of high quality trucks this year. Hoping this trend continues next year.

PM me next year as Hot August Nights gets closer and I'll provide the dates, locations and times.

Rich.
