funny how the hp war suddenly resurecetd in OUR diesel backyard.!!!! long gone are the days of smelly, slow, dirty diesel trucks...

its not really a war though...i see ford as being out of contention right now...but if dodge steps up on a couple more gears with that tranny then hmmmm..

If dodge does switch to the 6.7 CTD, we will just be able to laugh the other guys out of the way. I seriously hope dodge sticks with the 5.9(dont mess with a good thing), but if we gained that much displacement, and the little 5.9 can murder them now, just think about what an extra .8 litres would do to them I wish they would keep the 5.9, and jump to a 5 speed auto. That would be cream of the crop.

They might have more HP but they ride so low I would be afraid to take one off road. I love how high the dodge rides and not the mention the best diesel motor ever made. Now all dodge needs to do is make the interior as nice as chevy and steal the allison.

We don't need the darned Allison. The Allison is just a good name plate on a decent transmission. We can come up with something better without it saying "Allison" on the side of it. The stock Allison isn't even that strong when compared to what the same money would get you on the aftermarket.

We just need something better. Really badly. There has to be a good tranny somewhere in the Daimler-Chrysler octopus of a company, isn't there? If Chevy has a dual overdrive 6 speed, and we still have a stinking 4 speed, that's just stupid...

Why would anyone want a Allison since the 6.7L is coming with a Aisin 6spd auto??

Not to h/j the thread or anything but your conversations brought up a question that I have. I always find it funny that the Chebby/GMC commercials always tout the fact that their allison is the same manufacturer that makes the tranny in the M1A1. Why doesn't D/C point out that the Cummins is the same engine found in the Bradley fighting vehicle? Just my .0199 ¢

6.6 liter. It's going to have a built-in exhaust brake, and grid heater in addition to glow plugs. Me, I'll stick with my 'lil 5.9 and its 22 mpg fuel economy.

I don't recall the name of it, but it's bad mojo to compare your product using something similar to their "call sign". It's like Ivory soap being 99.44% pure. There are other soaps out there that are more pure, but if you heard an ad for 99.66% pure soap, your brain automatically goes to Ivory. You might not remember what exactly is better about the "new" soap, but you remember Ivory's tagline.

They would need to have spare trannys mounted underneath like fuses in the fusebox.
Don't need more inches just bomb it from the factory
