It's Mighty Purty....has everything a guy likes, all kinds of colorful wires and plugs and thingamabobs sticking out all over it, nothing there NOT to like

Only problem is, I am in the same boat as the rest of the guys as to WHY is it needed? Great write up, just don't know the purpose......

I was curious as well, so I did a little Googling. I'm guessing this wiring wonder will allow you to keep the truck running after you turn the key off and remove it. You control it with a switch to enable it, and it's automatically disabled if someone touches the brake.

Basically like a turbo timer, minus the timer...

If that's the case. Youldnt it be much easier to just ad a 12v timer? I mean put it in circut so when power is disabled(key off) truck runs for like 90 seconds or 5 min( ones I use are good for 5 min). No one can steal the truck as you need the key to shift. Obviously a problem for manuals. But you could add a simple relay on parkiing brake for that. So one timer one relay and donesky. Not that what you did wasn't impressive. Just curious

It is same like this one
http://www.able2products.com/update/05_0915_v1.htm

The wiring diagram has extra diagram for Duramax so when you push the override button rpm goes to 1000 rpm on the idle

all police cars have it

That is correct; you push override button and pull the key out engine will run until you push the brake pedal.
Or if you go to store, push the override button; pull the key out lock the truck, when you get back put the key back in **** in the drive and go
