It does have a VE pump similar to a 1st gen. The important difference is that there's no AFC on the NA VW pump. Just tweak the fuel screw for more power and smoke.

Cool! A paint job and some interior work, you'll be in there! Paint it the same color as your truck... And get some stacks!

The paint is in great shape! Just dirty! The interior is like NEW! Those are the seat covers that you see that are ripped.

I like it , my friend has an early golf NA diesel that he drives to work every day, as well as a 1990 Rabbit 1.8 gasser RHD. I will try and get some pictures for you.

I have an engine and 5 speed tranny out of a rabbit sitting in my shed, it's been there as long as i can remember , it still turns over with a wrench , but I have never tried to start it.

My mom also has an 01 Jetta Wolfsburg edition 1.8T

I like VW's as much as I like a Cummins.

I don't think that I could get use to shifting with my left hand.

It's actually not as bad as you would think , sitting on the left side , and being a passenger , actually took more getting used to.

A friend of mine has one almost identical to it he bought with 174k miles for $200. He drove it for a couple years and put another 125K miles on it before the rear frame/ suspension mounts rusted out and the rear of the car almost fell off. Still runs strong though.

I've actually got a line on another one, 1979. The body/interior is suppose to be in excellent shape, but the motor is in pieces in a box. This guys is asking $200 for it. It has 170k on it. I'll know more tomorrow. If anything it will make a good parts car.
