General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

Has anybody worn one out?

I saw a pic of an odometer and heard of a story of a 94 PSD with like 960k... He did delivery with it. Several clutches, two trannies, a few other parts, but no rebuild.

The Dmax is to new to have a million mile truck out there, MAYBE in 10 years... But I think the Dmax will be the other player in the diesel game. The two coolest Fords I have seen had Cummins in them.

I've seen a million mile PowerStroke.

But it's a one-of-a-kind, while 1M Cummins are relatively common by comparison.

Once you lower the bar to 500K, the Cummins stories are VERY common. Not so for the poor Ford product.

I was in a truck parts dept today picking up air fittings and noticed the vehicle board at the side. It has maintenance schedules etc. They have a 97 Dodge reg cab 2wd auto with 518k on it. They also had 2 E350 vans with powerstrokes that were in the 350ish range.
