Guy Claims Texas Sells Cummins/allison Combo?

a guy at work today claims in texas you can buy a dodge with a cummins/allison combo. Is this true? If so, what are the details, price, how many, why do they do this. Thanks.

only way to get an Allison behind a cummins is to take it out of a bus or bigger truck. thats the only ones i have ever heard of havin that combo. there might be a company that swaps the Allisons out of buses into Dodges, but u cant find them from the factory that way.

He probably meant there was a Texan telling him he could buy the Cummins with an Allison. That Texan was probably named Hoss

There are "salemen" at dealerships telling customers the Cummins comes with an Allison.
Of course they also speak of the "Hemi-Diesel" the "Overhead Cam" and yes, even "Ford owns Cummins"
No fooling, (I heard that one from a salesman at my local Dodge dealer)
I believe the Allison is much larger in diameter than the 47-48RE so the floor pan of the Dodge Ram would need to be modified to tuck the larger tranny in behind the Cummins.

Allision Trans. in Dodge

Neighbor down the road from me has a 98 dodge P-U diesel with a allision trany in it. He says it's on his bill of sale and the window sticker when he bought his truck. He said it was and option at the time he purchased his truck. He also told me that D C stopped having it as a option when Chevy came out with the Duramax allision combo. I asked him if he was smoking them left handed cigarette's and he said he didn't smoke or drink.
Cheapest diesel is 2.54 here. Waam Holland, Mich.
