Got 540 miles out of 26 gallons
driving from Oklahoma City to Guymon Oklahoma and back to Okla. city. last Saturday. Drove 60-65 mph running her up to 90 mph four times passing slow moving vehicles on 2 lane roads, LOL cant keep my foot out of it. Anyways this figured out to be about 20.8 mpg. Thought it was pretty good milage. Truck has 24000 miles on it. Has amsoil 15/w40 synthetic, dont know if this really makes any difference as I have used it since the truck had 3000 miles on it. This truck gets better milage than my 4 liter 6 cyl cherokee. Was a good trip execpt fo the A/C going on the fritz and I recharged that the other day with freon that had leak stop in it. We'll see if that stuff really works.

That's awesome.
It blows me away every time I run Albq to Denver. Truck gets 19mpg running 80+mph down the freeway. I can make it the 430 mi trip using about 22gal in the 26gal tank.
My old Dodge 1500 5.9 gasser had the same size tank and I could only get a little over 1/2 way, 10-12 mpg running 80-85 mph.

Same here. Went to Albq from Denver (empty except for sandbags) to pick up a motorcycle, 22 mpg. Filled up, got 22.5 mpg on the way back, same day. Cruise set on 72 mph both ways. I love it, but here's something even better: it didn't even slow down going up that horrible Raton Pass grade, in OD and cruise. In fact when I pull that grade with my full load of camper and boat I can do the same, but I choose not to. I can pull it at my usual loaded speed of 62 mph in OD and cruise, then I get 16 mpg on a tankfull.

Hey, Grit
There a curving hill just east of Moriarty NM that really gave my old 351 windsor heck when I pulled it with a 3000 lb load. Saw a lot of trucks grunt and groan getting over it. My D/C rolls over it like it wasnt even there. I usuall get around 14-17 mpg pulling a 3000-4000 lb load to Mogollon NM. Thats about 750 miles form Okla. City.

just put on a straight thru muffler on the Mega, kept the Cat and the resonator.
i got 20mpg last highway trip, by driving a SANE speed.
that's ~75 for me.
usually add a Nickle to the speed limit in town,
and a dime when on the highway.
sometimes a Quarter if i am grouchy.
got a $140 speeding ticket week before, so been trying to slow down.

Oh I know, its funny to see guys blindly going off the overhead.
It can be close at times, but if its not reset, and the speed changes quite a bit, it can be way off
It makes me kind of miss my 12 valve, 22mpg hauling butt and fogging to high heaven, I have to milk 15mpg out of my 3rd gen.

Me and the wife did a 3100 mile trip this summer which included highway, city, and mountain driving.
We averaged 21.8 mpg for the entire trip and thats hand calculated. Also, driving like a grandma, at least thats what my wife tells me, helps quite a bit. Im on vacation and usually never in a hurry!
Well, congrats on the good mpg! I usually get about 8 hours driving in one tank and thats getting close to 600 miles.
Have a good one!

Ya, I never really trusted that thing so I checked it against actual miles traveled and fuel usage about three times on 750 mile trips. LOL the thing came with in a few tenths. I still dont trust it enough to publish its results.

My longest run in my 96 12V 3/4 ton was 740 miles and from New Orleans to Melbourne, Florida without stopping.
The longest run in my 3500 was from Wilmington NC to Scranton, PA. Man that was some bad good fuel in NC.
