Is this a good deal on an 04?
Its a quad cab, 2wd, swb, 6 speed, 600 cummins, with just a few options like power pedals, auto dimming, tow mirrors, things like that. It stickers for about $36k. It has hail damage and they are offering it to me for $26500 with rebate and liner. Is this a good deal?
BTW it is a new truck...the whole lot got hit. Thanks for any help

Do you really want to deal with the hail damage or will it just be a farm truck? I cried for hours the first time I got a scratch on my new baby. At least yours would come with built in dents. For my money, I would pass. 33900 for mine with 4x4 and auto (555 engine) maybe take off 4K for those options. You're getting maybe 3K off, you gotta look at those dents for a long time.
I took my Silverado back from OK when they had a big ice storm about three years ago. Ice fell off a power line put a quarter size dent in the hood and I ached every time I looked at it....
This is just my opinion...grain of salt extra
P.S. Welcome to the site!!!!!

I have thought about driving it for a while, maybe a year, waiting for the next hail or ice storm. It is not on the title so no one knows about the damage. Plus its white so not too obvious.

I wonder if this will be a factory installed option in the future?
Hmmm, let's see...
Options:
Cummins Turbo Diesel ~ $5,000+
Power Pedals ~ $200
Tow Mirrors ~ $100
"Custom" bodywork courtesy of Mother Nature ~ -$10,000
The price is ok, but I could never live with it... I agree with Tom, I'd keep looking, you should be able to get the same truck, without the custom texture for a couple grand more... I guess it just comes down to the level of damage and if you can live with it or not.
Ironically, I had a similar experience when I bought a car back in '99. The car I was looking for was very rare at the time and there were only 4 in the entire state. A phone call to the local dealer revealed that they had the exact car I was looking for, right down to the options and color, so I flew down to take a look, totally prepared to buy it on the spot. Unfortunately, a week earlier, a massive hailstorm (golfball sized) had come through the area and did major damage to tons of cars. They didn't mention anything about it while on the phone, but when I went and looked at it, I was horrified by the damage and didn't even consider buying it... it litterally looked like the surface of a golfball, only magnified (1"-2" round dents everywhere). when I commented on the dents, the moron salesman was like "What, where, oh... yeah it has a few minor dings I guess". Just to humor myself, I said "How much would you discount it for that?" He said, "Oh, I suppose we could take off a couple hundred bucks." I laughed all the way to the dealer in PHX to pick up a clean one.

The dents are not noticeable from 20 feet back, just when you are right up on it. And it being white they don't stand out. I would only have it like this till next hail storm in the area and then it would get fixed.
Does anybody know how much an insurance company gives a dealership when there is hail damage? Is it usually a lot or just enough? I may have more room to play with here.

Lemme see, you are from Oklahoma which is relatively lively with respect to Spring weather. Sounds like the dents don't bother you that much.
HHmmmm, look around for other deals and price compare.
If you end up with it, I wouldn't worry about taking up garage space and let what happens happen....
