GM looking at Chrysler to buy
#16
yeah well like I said some people will only beleive what they want! So I guess lets start a new rummer!!!
KIA is going to by Cummins so they can sell it to Caterpillar so they can close the business and Cat will rule the world
#18
Ford used to own KIA. Now Hyundai does, which DC owns 10% of. Try again...

Won't happen, period. A C7 Cat will not fit in a Toyota, no matter how much they beef it up. I have spent a lot of time in a Sterling Actera with a C7 Cat, trust me, it would brake a Toyota in half. Cat is not interested in the light duty pick-up market.
#21
Well you know they could shoe horn in a 3304!!! A 3116 maybe!! At one time Cat was interested in light trucks but those days are long since gone!!

They are all in cahoots with one another. GM developed the DuraMax with Isuzu. Daimler owns control of Isuzu.
Now maybe I can get that F350 with the Silverado interior and a Cummins engine and Allison transmission.
Watch out for the Beast from the East................CHINA. They have mountains of money and are always looking to invest in US companies. Wow, a Cummins rice burn, I can't stand it.

Yeah in one sad way or another that are all in cahoots with each other. Like Gm was with Lotus then Gm and Ford started buying up european auto makers. Then europeans started buyin U.S. auto makers up. So the way the game goes I guess.

I'm pretty sure the 5.9L and 6.7L are not made in Mexico. I believe the 5.9 is manufactured in Columbus, IN...
#25
Well I could have swore that they were assembled in Mexico. When they moved them down there Cummins was bragging about the increased profit margin they were enjoying? Then in more market news he (The CEO) was talking about moving that to the Orient. I will have to do some more checkin?
#26
Cummins is not built in Mexico, it is built in the goodol USA. GM will get Cummins motors if they buy Chrysler, the existing Cummins-Chrysler Supply contract will stay in force. This not a who owns Cummins issue, Cummins owns Cummins, the issue is who holds the Supplier contract. It could be one of the few good reasons for GM to buy Chrysler. There is 3 more years on the existing contract, I wonder how much that is worth ?

I have seen other news/rumors on Chery being very aggressive in trying to get ownership/control over an American car manufacturer or distributor. It would not surprise me at all since American business interests seems secondary to the bottom line. The Global economy does not mean we need to sell out to global owners or divest globally, it means we should make a better American product and control the global market that way.
