I wanted to see what others had to say before I chimed in with my two cents...
* Power Service and Howe's are readily available and cheap. I've used both in the past and currently use either Stanadyne and Howe's. My main complaint with Stanadyne is that it will freeze when left overnight in the tool box. Howe's doesn't.

* I've not seen Primrose locally. Wouldn't know where to find it. Is it cheaper than Stanadyne? Or is this a product only found on the internet?

Living out west the temps often got down to -25/35 for extended periods of time.
We used five gallons of Kerosene mixed with 2800 gals of #2. That worked fine.
Your mileage suffered, but the fuel never gelled.

Now bad fuel is another ballgame alltogether. Shell which recently purchased the downstream facilities of Texaco (which was already crap to begin with) put a new wrinkle on things. Overnight we were left with three choices: Exxon, BP & Shell.
I personally don't like them. From days gone by of using a car, I've had multiple problems with their gas products. I prefer Conoco/P66 or Cenex, but I'd have to travel 65-500 miles to one of their stations.

WOW.......been away for the weekend, checked my thread and couldn't beleive all the replies I got.

This site is great.

I have never heard of Primrose but I will research it, but it seems like Stanadyne is also a top contender.

Thanks for all the feedback I really appreciate it.

Dude, get up!....that doesn't look good!

Who said anything about it not working? I just suggested possibly why it's popular. I've used it before, along with Diesel Kleen and Arctic Express..... got them at Wal-Mart...

Hey Infidel, thanks for the link on the MSDS's. We are required by the safety dept. of a large company we contract for to have an MSDS for every thing we keep with us while servicing gas wells. I am in the process of updating them now, and have had quite a time with some until now...Thanks again.

Quite a few folks have directly attributed the use of Marvel MO to fuel level sender failures.
The stuff is more like a solvent than a lube and will not provide any anti-gel properties

Not to throw additive on the fire but I use howes because it has proven itself to me in big trucks(I tried it in my little truck but did not see a dollars and sense improvement ( B-series Cummins). First example: Same truck same trailer same load same trip 6 and 7 days a week howes improved the mileage enough to get double the money back on every jug. This test was personally run many times over a 2 1/2 year period.( Cummins Big cam 4 NTC, not STC) Example Two: 430 Detroit Diesel (sickley (60) series) 6 reman injectors were installed so far in two years #1 is still in there,#2 through #6 has been replaced with #3 being replaced twice. When you start to get a miss I give it a double dose of howes and within 30 miles it will begin hitting on all six again.I have been through this six times and it has only failed once and the injector was stuck open rather than just a dead miss.I tried lucas and it did not help. The injectors have failed for two reasons 1.failed solenoids 2.broken plunger return springs.also have noticed decreased smoke output when using howes. The big cam was born as a 315 but it now eats 475 cats for lunch. The 60-series was a mistake that will not be repeated. REAL ENGINES HAVE RED VALVE COVERS! No comment on the fat chicks except have you ever noticed that they usually have a skinny little significant other?

I use Stanadyne as it works well and has, or is at least advertised to have, OEM endorsements from Ford, GM, VW, Volvo, etc., and I think that I recall reading that they make the fuel additive for Ford. To my knowledge no other additive has such endorsements.

An unusual attribute that I find with Stanadyne is that it's the only other product that I've run across that smells like Break_Free CLP.

Lightman. In my opinion, I have noticed that most fat chicks are with thin guys, or thin chicks are with fat guys

What's up with that
