Friend wants a Ford 6 litre

Just FYI... except for vans, there are no "98" powerstrokes. The ones made in 98 are all called 99s.
I wouldn't buy a 6.0 poersrtroke... too big a gamble for me. My next truck will either be a dodge cummins, or if I lack the money a used 7.3 powerstroke.

You guys are getting a little too stressed out about someone elses way of spending their money. Just let all your Ford owner friends know that you are all too happy to haul home his investment for a better rate than any towing company. When this happens he will have to admit there is a problem as he rides in the jump seat, pay you for his troubles and experience what a real truck engine functions like. Your part will include friendly help when one needs it, a shoulder to cry on and a great big smile while helping your "friend" with no hassles or verbal abuse. Reality has a way of installing it's own stress on those that are directly relevant to the problem not transferring it to yourself. PK

Does he currently drive the new or older body style? I ask because there is no such thing as a 1998 Powerstroke. The 1997 was the old style called a heavy duty. The new body style came out in 1998 as a 1999 model.

I just went with what he told me. Its the older body style. Learn something everday.
Another reason I asked is because his wife is my dispatcher, and I will hear about every day if it goes south. I gave her some of the websites and he can read as much or as little as he wants....Its his and her money to spend.
Thanks again.
