I have a vendor who has a turbo Porsche and after we go out for an early morning run, usually 0330-0500, the turine housing glows bright orange. It also shoots a little flame out the tailpipe between shifts. Really neat. It's a '79 and only has 69XX miles. That's all it's for is early morning joyrides.

isn't there a video of that motor in the pic---I thought I saw it a couple months back...that's a gasser, ya? Headers on a diesel? The turbo was so loud in the video it made me step back from my monitor

From what i've heard at the ford dealership that i work at is NO, the 7.3 had problems passing emmissions in states like California. The engineering put into the 6 ltr is amazing, simply put, the engine puts out too much power than it can handle, hence the reason it blows up(not literally)

For me longevity is what sold me my truck and the 610 # of torque helped but if Ford can't produce the 6.0 that can hold up and GM using an alluminum block engine that still has yet to prove itself to me. Alluminum and diesel is not a good mix ya won't see a alluminum block in a Peterbuilt or Kenworth ya see Cummins and Detroits and Cats all "non-alluminum, and all inlines. A true diesel is NOT A V-8 it is an Inline
